The heat must be getting to me -- the season starts tonight (Wednesday) at Hollified Station. Tomorrow night only (Thursday) we are at Martin Road Park.
Sorry about any confusion!

The 2010 season is behind us
Hard to believe the 2010 season is a month behind us. We had a great tournament this year with fun and competitive games, superb weather, an ideal facility (thanks HCRP!), and plenty of friends and food. Thanks to all who made it happen, especially the players!
Remember, autumn is a great time to practice ultimate.

Ultimate Forever!
Two weeks into the season, the coaches are having a great time getting to know the kids, and we're looking forward to passing on the many years of collective knowledge we have about the sport. Most of all, we hope to pass on a love of the game and an appreciation for good sportsmanship.
After a week of what feels like non-stop World Cup Soccer in my house, I'm enjoying a rare treat - Ultimate Frisbee on TV. Tonight, CBS College Sports is airing the USA Ultimate college semi-finals. The sport has certainly come a long way since my days playing with friends in high school, and on the quad in college. Not only are college teams extremely competitive, but some schools offer scholarship money to Ultimate student athletes.
Beyond college, many metropolitan areas (including ours) host various pick-up leagues that allow players to enjoy the sport for many years after their school days. As long as you want to play, you can find a welcoming group of people who will be happy to welcome you ont0 the field regardless of your skill or fitness level.

Summer season begins
Hooray! The new Howard County Ultimate season is here. We can't wait to meet this year's players. We're always impressed with the talent and excitement in every participant.
Note the new time of 6:30pm until 8:00pm. You probably already received a letter from the county about this, but figured it was worth repeating.
U11 tonight (June 9), U15 tomorrow (June 10). See you there!

Site updated
We've updated our web site with the summer league schedule, new registration link, and new field info for U11. Note we also found a typo on the county registration page -- the league goes through all of July, and does not end in the middle like registration suggests.
Practice starts soon, so if you haven't registered do so soon!

What's a Pluto Platter?
Walter Frederick Morrison, who died today at the age of 90, was the creator of the Pluto Platter ... the flying disc that eventually became known as the Frisbee. Thanks for your work, Mr. Morrison!
